Merit basis refers to highest aggregate score in either the entrance exam (for first year) or annual/ semester exams. Awardees from the semester system will receive NRs 1000.00 per semester.
Students also benefit from informal scholarship (not officially recorded or recognized). For example, Dr. Ashish Mukhopadhyay (chemistry faculty) gives away scholarship to 2 needy students (1 boy and 1 girl) in B. Tech (Food) during their first year.
A special scholarship is awarded to one financially weak-cum-meritorious student in each year/semester in all the programs (including M. Sc. Microbiology). CCT thus gives away NRs 10,000 each to 18 students every year.
